Space: Texture

Texture refers to the surface quality in interior design.  We associate textures with the way things look or feel, such as, being rough, smooth, silky, shiny, furry and so on.  This is an important part of the interior design puzzle because it helps dictate how a room feels at first glance.  Much like the colour of a room can affect how warm or cool it feels, texture can influence the tone and weight of a room.
