Clever Hacks to transform your Rental Apartment

Are you living in a boring rental apartment that needs a serious overhaul? Remodelling a rental apartment that you do not wish to own, would not be a practical option. The ideal would be to do some low-cost cosmetic fixes for a big impact. Keeping that in mind, here are few clever hacks to upgrade your apartment and give a feel of a home.

1. Paint Rooms – Painting the house is the most cost-effective than any other renovations. A fresh coat of paint can revive tired walls, giving instance freshness to the house. Take permission from the house-owner to either paint the entire house or just the accent wall (featured wall) of each room. If you go with option two, it will be easier for you to repaint back to the original when you are ready to move out.

2. Add Curtains – If you cannot paint the walls at all or if you wish to brighten up your room a little bit more, use colourful curtains. Sheer curtains are the all-time classics, creating a wonderful transition between the indoor and outdoor spaces. They can enhance a room’s ambience by letting the natural light inside, giving a softening glow to the incoming light.

3. Add Mirrors – Mirrors are a tasteful way to hide imperfections. Strategically placed mirrors will give an illusion of openness and expansiveness to rooms. Take advantage of a mirror’s reflection to bring attention to a gorgeous vase or another attractive artefact. Mirrors increase a room’s appeal and can easily double-up a room’s lighting.

4. Add Greenery – Plants can instantly bring freshness and greenery to any space. You may opt for plants that need moderate or indirect sunlight like ferns, peace lily, money plant, grape ivy, areca palm.  Anthurium is an exotic-looking plant that flowers nearly year-round. Pick a similar plant that can become the focal point in your home décor.

5. Add Intimacy – Personalize a corner shelf with your family pictures and candles. Place a flower vase close to it. Arrange a few seats closer together without too many objects in between and place a beautiful rug. That way there won’t be too much distance when you are seated, resulting in a comforting and pleasant experience with family and friends.

6. Add Fragrance – Smell plays a big role in creating a pleasant environment. Scented candles, fresh flowers, fragrance sticks, or a scented diffuser with your favourite essential oils will fill your rooms with everlasting personalized fragrance.

These clever hacks are sure to transform a boring space, without spending much from your pocket and create a welcoming atmosphere in your home.
